Has it come to this?

I teach Sunday school to 16, 17 & 18 year olds. It's usually a party in class with lots of silliness and chit chat, oh, and some gospel doctrine here and there (I try people. I really do!). But last week the kids were especially giddy over something, and they were all poking fun at this boy and girl in my class who are clearly a couple.

At the beginning of class I asked everyone if they had a good week and one of the boys said, "Stephen has had an especially good week!" (Stephen is the boy part of the couple.)

It was obvious that something had happened between the classroom couple. But the big news was not what I expected.

One of the girls in class eventually blabbed that the young man and woman in question had changed their Facebook relationship status to, "in a relationship."

Well, obviously. I see these kids once a week and I didn't need Facebook to tell me that.

I wonder if this was a joint decision which involved talking to each other, or if one just requested it on Facebook and the other accepted?

Next thing you know they're going to be telling each other, "I love you" for the first time through text.

Also, I'll feel sorry for them when they break up. Sunday school awkwardness.

I wish I could "like" this. Instead I have to comment. Darn.

Facebook is definitely shifting our world. It will be too bad when they break up. I always thought it was strange when people dated within wards (when they were teenagers)

i don't know why you are already doubting this relationship! obviously it is going to go far if it was announced on fb. in fact, you better get back on fb and announce that you are married so your marriage can be more secure!
